Written in the form of a poem, ten year old Ha and her family must flee their homes when their country erupts in war. With her father reported missing in action, Ha, her mother and brothers escape Vietnam by boat and arrive in the United States. Will they be able to adjust and face up to their mean and bullying classmates?
